Objective: Students will learn about a famous artwork and recreate the image using things around the house.
DECEMBER 11: RESEARCH Read this article: Art Imitators Recreate Famous Paintings Next, do a Google search for famous artworks. Choose an artwork that you work like to recreate. Portraits work the best but you can be creative and choose whatever image you like, as long as you have the materials to create it. Example below:
DECEMBER 15: Part 1: FIND MATERIALS AROUND THE HOUSE
Find different material around your house that are similar to what is in the artwork. Be creative. You can use whatever you want including animals, other people, drawings, fabric, whatever...BE ORIGINAL!!
Part 2: NEXT TAKE A SELFIE Create the same image the best you can while using only the material you have. Look at the example below. Save your image on your phone. You can edit it if you want to make it look more authentic. The next time you will need your image will be for Task 5.
Above is an interesting video that show how to recreate an artwork. This photographer went to the extreme to recreate the piece. Check it out. It might give you some ideas about lighting, shadows, and setting up.
Part 3: MAKE A FLIPGRID VIDEO
Make a FLIPGRID video. In the video answer the following questions about your artwork. (More points if you dress up as your artwork in the video.)
Name the artist who created the artwork. (Have an image of the original image and the recreation on the top corners of your screen).
When was the artist born? Die? Where were they from?
What is the name of the artwork? (Use the 'text' feature and type it on your screen).
What medium did the artist use to create the piece?
What style is the artwork in?
Where is the artwork located?
Include 3+ interesting things about the artist not mention above.
Name 2 + interesting facts about the artwork.

DECEMBER 17: GIVE FEEDBACK BY REPLYING As other students start to post videos; it is important to give them feedback and reply to what they posted. You need to reply to at least 2 others students videos. Everybody needs feedback so select students who don't already have a response. In these reply videos include the following:
Add at least 1 + positive comment
Elaborate what they mentioned in presentation (what did you learn?)
Add one more detail that wasn't mentioned in the presentation about the artwork (research maybe required)
End on a positive note like, "keep up the great work, AMAZING job, or something similar"
To reply to students look for these icons. Click it and reply back. Your responds should pop up on the main page next to your selected student.
