One of my goals was to teach steps for how to look at something and then draw it. Projected a photo of a bowl of plastic fruit onto the board and walked them through how to draw a Still Life step by step. Break down objects into simple geometric shapes. Then they practiced shading techniques like hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling to add value in the fruit. Students should focus on a variety of pattern as well as vaired line thicknesses and value blending. Students can use pastels or watercolor with colored pencils for detail and values. The background should be filled in with Zentangle patterns! A lot of different techniques went into this project but the contrast is amazing. Even though they were all drawing from the same picture of fruit, I love the variety!!
