Objective: Students will learn about a famous artwork and recreate the image using things around the house.

DEC 11: RESEARCH Read this article: Art Imitators Recreate Famous Paintings Next, do a Google search for famous artworks. Choose an artwork that you work like to recreate. Portraits work the best but you can be creative and choose whatever image you like, as long as you have the materials to create it. Example below:
DEC 11: FIND MATERIALS AROUND THE HOUSE
Find different material around your house that are similar to what is in the artwork. Be creative. You can use whatever you want including animals, other people, drawings, fabric, whatever...BE ORIGINAL!!
DEC 15: TAKE A SELFIE (2 PARTS) PART 1: Create the same image the best you can while using only the material you have. Look at the example below. Save your image on your phone. You can edit it if you want to make it look more authentic. The next time you will need your image will be for Task 5.
Above is an interesting video that show how to recreate an artwork. This photographer went to the extreme to recreate the piece. Check it out. It might give you some ideas about lighting, shadows, and setting up.
PART 2: DEC 15: MAKE A FLIPGRID VIDEO
Make a FLIPGRID video. In the video answer the following questions about your artwork. (More points if you dress up as your artwork in the video.)
Show two images in the top corners of your FLIPGRID (one of your original image the other your recreation)
Use the 'text' feature and type the name of your artwork on your FLIPGRID
What is the name of the artwork?
Name the artist who created the artwork. When were they born? Die? Where were they from?
What medium did the artist use to create the piece?
What style is the artwork in?
Where is the artwork located?
Include 3+ interesting things about the artist not mention above.
Name 2 + interesting facts about the artwork.
Student Examples of Recreating an Artwork
As you make your video, add the original artwork in one of the corners of your video (see example below). Then answer the questions above. Be creative on how you want to do this. DEC 17: GIVE FEEDBACK BY REPLYING As other students start to post videos; it is important to give them feedback and reply to what they posted. You need to reply to at least 2 others students videos. Everybody needs feedback so select students who don't already have a response. In these reply videos include the following:
Add at least 1 + positive comment
Elaborate what they mentioned in presentation (what did you learn?). Be very specific.
Add two more details that weren't mentioned in the presentation about the artwork (research is required). Explain the details.
End on a positive note like, "keep up the great work, AMAZING job, or something similar, you rock". Be sincere.
To reply to students look for these icons. Click it and reply back. Your responds should pop up on the main page next to your selected student.
