Choice #1 BLIND LINE DRAWING
Draw a blind contour of your own, or another person's portrait. You may work from life or a photograph. This is supposed to look wacky so don't be too hard on yourself. Please be sure to draw big enough so that the blind contour lines fit well within the picture plane of your composition. Lastly, add smooth shading to the drawing to give it a realistic feel. Choice #2 BLIND LINE DRAWING
Draw a series of 5 - 7 blind contour or contour line drawings of faces of your choice. Each drawing should be done in marker. Then, organize the drawings by overlapping them in a unique and visual engaging way. Finally, use an overhead projector to project your drawings onto your drawing paper. Add color. |
Choice #3: ONE CONTINUOUS LINE DRAWING
Create an artwork that uses one continuous line. You can uses thick markers, paint, or ink. Use a 18x24 piece of paper,
1. Use an implement that permits a free-flowing line. 2. Use an unbroken line for the entire drawing. 3. Keep your drawing implement constantly in contact with the paper. 4. Draw through the forms as if they were transparent. 5. Describe both outside edges and internal shapes. 6. Fill the entire surface of your paper, encompassing positive and negative shapes. 7. Let the shapes go off the page on at least three sides. 8. Vary the weight of the line. 9. Use continuous, overlapping lines. CHOICE 4: POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE SPACE
