Watch the video (scroll down) called "Shading Techniques" this will help you understand how to make a value scale.
Next, On a sheet of paper, at the top, label this assignment, "4 Shading Techniques". Measure 4 rectangles that are 1 inch x 5 inches (similar to what is shown on the video) Add 5 boxes in each rectangle that are 1 in x 1 in. (similar to what is shown on the video). Label one scale the hatching technique,cross hatching technique, stippling technique and the blending technique.
Shade each of the scale using a different shading technique,. Shade from dark to light for example: Black, dark grey, grey, light grey, and white. Avoid jumps with the shades. Take your time and do your best work. A high level of craftsmanship and quality is expected.
TASK 3: Leave a comment in Google Classroom Define in your own word the following: hatching technique, crosshatching technique, stippling technique, and blending technique. Which technique did you like the best? Which is your least favorite?

Look Make a copy of thisgoogle power point and use it as a guide for your own power point. If it doesn't download you can read the instruction below. Use Google Slide and create a power point and include the following:
Slide 1: Title Page, call this presentation, 'Shading Techniques in Art". Add your first and last name and grade. Next, find an image of the crosshatching technique, hatching technique, stippling technique, and blending technique and insert them in the slide. Label the shading techniques.
Slide 2: Find a famous artwork by MC Escher and place it in slide 2. Include the name of the artist and title of the artwork. Next, identify 3 areas on the image where the cross hatching technique is used. Use the arrow shape and point it at the areas. Label the areas crosshatching 1,2 and 3. Look at the example below,

Slide 5: Find a famous artwork by Leonardo Da Vinci and place it in slide 5; Include the name of the artist and title of the artwork next to the image. Next, identify 3 areas on the image where the blending technique is used. Use the arrow shape and point it at the areas. Label it blending example 1, 2, and 3.
Include transitions, background colors, etc. Make it look as nice and professional as possible. Share with me your powerpoint when your finished.

TASK 2: MAKE A VIDEO Select your favorite artwork that was in your power point presentation. Do some research on that artwork and artist and find 3 facts about the artist and 3 facts about the artwork. Include things like: Where is the artist from? When did he die? What medium does he like to use? What techniques did he use? etc.. Next, make a FLIPGRID video and share your information. When you make the video insert an image of the artwork in the corner of your video. Look at the example below.
