If you are a high school or college student interested in applying to an art school for fine arts or design, the National Portfolio Day is for you! Representatives from the nation’s leading art colleges and universities accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design will travel to VCU arts to review your artwork, discuss your educational and professional goals, and share information on art programs, careers, admissions, and financial aid and scholarships. This event is free and open to the public.
Student Testimonials:
Student 1: "We had split up into multiple groups with my friends and I splitting up to go look at two colleges, one being of our interest and another we picked at random. To start off we went to the Columbus College of Art and Design which focused on many different types of art majors. The woman was really nice and open about our art, yet gave us ideas on how to improve. I really really loved that college. "
Student 2: "I really enjoyed going to see all of the major and minor art colleges. The representatives of colleges asked good questions and make me think more about art. For example, do I want to do art as a major or a minor and what do I want to specialize in. Some representatives comment or compliment on my art work or some are more critical which is different for me because I'm use to hearing positive comments and not negative comments because I've never had a expert or critic look over my art work before."
